Another day, Another country

This year. my husband, the kids and I travelled a lot. Everything we did was basically in our bucket list. The thing about traveling, once you fall in love with one country, you want to keep traveling to explore more. When my husband and i got together, one of the things that we both agreed on was that traveling would be on top of our priority list because it is a must. Ten years later and 7 years of marriage out of those 10 years, we've been doing just that.

we close out this year with Panama. Although we did take a short trip with the boys a little bit after Panama for my son's birthday which happens to be the same month as my wedding anniversary month. We figured hein, why not? We want our boys to also experience the world as we are and we want to give them the best we can as long as we are both able. Ok. so let's go back to Panama. This trip was to celebrate our 7th year wedding anniversary. The Number 7 is a lucky number afterall so why not make a celebration out of it.

One thing i must add, when we travel we plan our trip months and months ahead. We plan accordingly because we know traveling nowadays is definitely not the same as traveling 2-3 years ago. The flights are super expensive and you must always try to travel off season so they can be cheaper. Don't ask me if there is any truth to it because once everything adds up, our pockets feels like it is the same darn thing.

One of the things i loved about traveling to Panama was the architecture of it all and the history behind the country/culture. The hotel we stayed and i won't say no name yet because i am not getting paid to advertise (smiling) was absolutely breathtaking and had so much history behind it. The hotel had 3 different towers: French, English and Spanish. We stayed at the French Tower and the room definitely served a french vibe. I've been called bougie and it's ok because if my hotel doesn't match my trip, i don't want it.

One of the many things that caught my attention in the hotel besides how detailed everything was from the lobby to the room, was their customer service. My goodness, i have never and i mean never stayed at a hotel where their customer service was top notch. There is always a glitch somewhere but that hotel hands down had the best customer service. Let me also add it is a 5 star hotel in that country. We told them it was our wedding anniveresary and we felt like royalty. And no, it wasn't because it was our anniversary, we made sure to check the reviews only prior to booking them and all the reviews were just positive. Do not get me started about the hotel food, out of 10. So so good....

P.S: I have more videos than photos. I need to learn or see if i'm able to upload videos on my blog post as well so you guys can enjoy the experience throught the videos

One of the restaurants on property had a wine cellar and that wine cellar has a beautiful history behind it. During the war back then, it was a hidden place for many so they wouldnt get killed. I'm not sure i remember everything he said because i was not only fascinated by the wine cellar but i was busy enjoying a quick wine tasting myself..

We didn't do as much outside of the hotel as we would want to because there was a protest while in Panama. The streets were flooded in every corner with cops and we didn't want to risk it. We had a chance to visit the locals and we stopped at their seafood market place where we and by we i mean my husband enjoyed some good ceviche. He is a seafood head and will go out his way to find seafood. It was fun to be honest. Did in mention how they were playing Haitian Music, Taboo Combo to be correct at one of the restaurants? Chileeee, yes.. I felt right at home.

We went to a few of the gift shops in Panama to buy some goodies and support the locals. We visited a historical area/ museum and we walked a lot. We chatted with the locals and they were very nice and friendly. I enjoyed seeing a few of their indeginous tribe which was the highlight of my trip. The weather wasn't coorporating but one thing to expect when traveling with my husband is to walk everywhere. He is never tired. Overall it was a fun experience. I truly understood what peace and serenity felt like in this trip. Panama will definitely see us again.

I strongly encourage you to take at least one trip a year if you can. If you cannot go out of the country, travel to a different state. There is so much out there to learn. One of the best things i enjoy when traveling is learning about the country and connecting with the locals. Do this for yourself once a year and i promise you won't regret it. Cheers to country #4 this year..

I hope you guys enjoy reading this blog post. Writing makes me happy just as much as everything else i do. Leave a little comment.. Share your traveling experience with me. Have you been to Panama?

With Love

Mimi!
